Nissan Pivo 2: Eco-Friendly Electric Car

August 23rd, 2008

Environmentally friendly cars are the passion of today’s eco-conscious generation. Nissan brings you another eco-friendly car that you can proudly drive around without hurting the environment- once it is manufactured, that is. The Nissan Pivo 2 is the successor of the Pico that was released in 2005. The Pivo 2 is an electric three-person car with drive-by-wire (DBW) technology in steering and breaking.

This bubble-shaped car has certain features that would wow you out of your mind. It can infer the driver’s mental state by their facial expressions and by voice patterns. A new concept, the Metamo System, allows the driver to take control of each wheel separately. With optimum load distribution ensuring stability and minimum body movement during acceleration, the torque output of the Pivo 2 is twice that of conventional electric motors. A new lithium-ion battery has double the energy density of conventional batteries which is improved by better response to regenerative breaking.
