Air Hog Zero Gravity Cars: Drive them Up Your Walls

Kids driving you up the walls with their wailings for new toys when the last few remote-controlled cars you bought were flushed down the toilet and fed to the dog (RIP, Tommy)? They wouldn’t be so frustrated with those boring old cars if you got them something new and really cool, like a remote controlled car. Don’t get the drift? Try the Air Hog Zero Gravity Micro R/C car, and your kids would be driving them up the walls. This cool toy doesn’t just zoom all over your floors but can also race up the sides of your walls and the underside of your tables.

The gravity-defying ability of the toy car is thanks to a powerful fan on the underside of the car that creates suction to hold the car to the wall. It is powered by rechargeable batteries, but they do eat up a lot of power. A single charge can only run the car for about ten minutes. The Air Hog Zero Gravity cars are barely 5” long, controlled by infrared remote and are available in various designs and colours. Forget your kids; I know you want these little beauties all to yourself. You can get them from Firebox for £30 or from Amazon for $47.

DrawBone: Highlighting Pen Shaped Like a Bone

Think back to your days in Kindergarten and you would remember that the most fun hours were spent scribbling and drawing away with your many coloured pencils and crayons. This childish pleasure may have taken more importance than pulling somebody’s pigtails, mostly because your creations of art will take coveted position on your bedroom wall and the fridge door. My only regret is that my fancy colouring pens did not come in as many varied shapes as the colours themselves. Like the DrawBone highlight pen shaped like a bone!

The DrawBone, created by Ming Tong is a highlight pen that is made of three detachable pieces that, put together, fits like a bone. Much like what we would be throwing around for our dog to play with. The joint mechanism at the socket or end portion of the DrawBone pen allows you to connect many bone pens together to make longer pens. This just might give kids the idea to join pens together and have a macabre bone-sword fight. With a strip, the DrawBone pen can even be hung around your neck, perhaps to show your support to PETA. This is something people would definitely buy, if only they knew where to get it!

Madeley Rodriguez Designs Beautiful Kid Friendly Stationary

Every parent would agree that when babies turn to being toddlers, they start developing a great interest in scribbling. This is when we can use Vygotsky’s socio-cultural theory in which he states that children learn to speak, read and write because of familial and environmental influences. This in-built mechanism makes children curious and fast learners and they go ahead scribbling all across your books, magazines and where not! The problem is, most of these stationery products are not children friendly and can be quite toxic as well.

Madeley Rodriguez of chickprint, Brooklyn has designed some really beautiful and pretty children friendly stationary products. You could give them all to your kids or use some for yourself. She has an entire collection of cards, personalized stationery, recipe cards, framing, and products for babies too! If you want your text to be written in other languages, she charges an extra $5 and that is it! International shipping is available and yeah, she is on vacation till August 30. So, if you place any orders before that, she will get back to you once she is in town.
