Santa Ynez Valley Estate: Beyond Beauty and Luxury
Thursday, October 16th, 2008 |Tags: estates, home station, Luxury, Santa Ynez Valley Estate

Flamboyant fashion has no place in the world of elegance which is the hardest thing to achieve. Elegance comes from simplistic yet beautiful designs that are practical and oxymoronically boldly demure.
This piece of elegance sits atop 20 acres of land in the Santa Ynez Valley area of California. Completed in 2006, it took place of pride in the Interior Design Magazine and won the 2007 AIA Design Award. Constructed in one of the most breathtakingly beautiful areas on the Western coast of the States, the house does not appear a blemish but instead is complimentary in reflecting the serenity of its surroundings. The house includes an 800sq ft master bedroom suite with a walk-in closet, a 1200sq ft guest suite and a common den fitted with a warming fireplace. Designed for a work-at-home artist, the house also has an 800sq ft art studio with an adjoining office.

A Personal Sub Concept To Take On The Deep waters
Thursday, October 2nd, 2008 |Tags: boats, C-Quester Submersible, Personal Subs, spaceships, Submarines, vehicles, water

Like always, we are interested in subs and especially those that are designed in a unique fashion. We just found a concept for a Personal Submarine C-Quester Submersible, which looks like a promising design. The chic contours and the high tech look reminds you of a space ship that you might have seen in your dreams or possibly in a movie.
It comes in metallic colors and the inner segment can hold a pair of passengers. It would be interesting to know what this concept might turn out to be, when manufactured. For now, we have no information either about it’s pricing or if it is ever going to be manufactured.
I would say, the personal submarine may encourage people to go into hiding in deep blue waters far away from everyone else. But Imagine being stuck with a boring lo0ver or evn a psychotic lover! It kinda sends shivers down my spine.

Alchemy Vermeil Ink Pen: Double Nibbed for Bigger Impact
Sunday, September 28th, 2008 |Tags: Alchemy Vermeil, Double Nibbed, Ink Pen, pen, writing

They say that the difference between War and Love is that War kills with swords what Love could kill with words. Perhaps you would argue that swords are still more dangerous because there are double-edged swords and no double-nibbed pens. But are you absolutely sure of that?
Prepare yourself for the war of the worlds because the Alchemy Vermeil ink pen with working nibs at both ends of the pen is here. This limited edition pen is beautifully crafted and capped in 18 carat gold at one end and sterling silver capped on the other. With a red body, the use of gold and silver are meant to underline the significance of Alchemy. The pen also allows you to write in two different colours but this must mean you would need to refill the ink holder quite often because it would be smaller than in that of a normal ink pen.

OSIM uSpace Massaging Chair with Mood Lighting and Synchronised Music
Friday, September 5th, 2008 |Tags: massager, massaging chair, Music Player, OSIM, uSpace

At first glance, this may appear as a pram designed for extremely spoilt self-indulgent adults. It is not a pram, but what is wrong with a little self-indulgence now and then in this over-stressed world? The OSIM uSPace is a massage chair built from airbag-style cushions that surround whichever part of the body is being rubbed to apply a sense of pressure. The uSpace intends to leave you completely relaxed- mentally, physically, and emotionally- with several combinations of mood light, synchronised music and massage programmes.
Set the colour of your choice (ranging between different hues of blue, turquoise and green light that moves in a rhythmic pattern), the desired music and the massage type to soothe and calm your mind and body. If more than just relaxation is needed, you can choose options that will induce a deep sleep. The pram-like cover cocoons you from external vies and sounds and the leather upholstery of the full-body massaging chair will increase your sense of well-being. OSIM uSpace allows you to connect your mp3 player to it so that the music emanating from it is in tune with you. A central remote gives you complete control over the whole experience. The only time the uSpace can possibly give you a cardiac arrest is when you see the price tag of $6000.

Fridge that fortifies your food with Vitamins
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 |Tags: hitachi, refrigerator

You get up in the morning all joyful, wanting to cook you and your family a yummy cheese salad along with their favourite pasta. And why not, after all the broccoli and veggies that you could not prepare yesterday owing to a last minute emergency call to your office needs to be eaten, right?
But when you open the fridge, you realise that veggies area all spoilt and you will have to eat out of the can this morning also. In today’s fast paced life, who has time to inspect if your veggies are stored at the right temperature or the beef is lying in the right shelf? Not you and me.
So, if Hitachi is giving us a sensitive fridge that takes charge of all that, I don’t understand why it should annoy the tech pundits! Well, let them fuss about it while I tell you how this little invention can help us.
In Japan, Hitachi is developing a never before kind of refrigerator that automatically sprays your food with chemicals to make them stay fresh for a longer time. RY6000 and RY5400, the twin wonder towers have sensors that can detect what exactly is being stored in the refrigerator so that it can shower your eatable with the right amount of vitamins and nutrients to kill the bacteria. Now, that’s what I call sixth sense!

Swan in a mouse in a Crystal
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 |Tags: crystal, Gadgets, Luxury, Mouse, swarovski

Most of the women feel that new gadgets are designed keeping in mind the taste of men and thus women have no alternative but to get used to it. How often have you seen, lets say, a computer designed keeping in mind the aesthetic styling of a woman? You have to race your brain really hard to find that one or two example.
This is the reason I appreciate the efforts put in by Jeremy Doherty, imon Doherty and Dareen Doherty from new Zealand. The trio have come up with a Swarovski mouse specially designed for trendy women. No wonder that the design has won rank one in a competition organised by Designboom. The designers say that that they have given a daily use item a “sensual, feminine formâ€.
The shape of the mouse itself is a pun on the Swarovski logo. Shaed as a swan, the neck of the mouse carries a sparkling crystal that can be used as a toggle button. The mouse is wireless, so the swan looks more like a show piece, without any wires protruding out of it. The design comes with a Swarovski logo at the base of the swan. Truly, a swan to fly on to your dream land!
