If cycling around on your brand new double-wheeled cycle is still a bore and unfashionable for you, then get your eyes on this unicycle. It would surely excite things up.
Focus Design’s SBU is a self-balancing unicycle that looks good and is much easier than a bicycle to ride. The best part of the cycle is that it does not need to be pedalled, having only footrests. The speed of the unicycle is controlled by whole body movements- leaning forwards to accelerate and backwards to reduce the speed or brake to a stop. The balancing of the unicycle is accomplished via its advanced electronics.

Here is a concept car that is designed for an urban user and also a single user. The Peugeot EGO is a lean vehicle, which has been specially designed to tackle the traffic and carry only one passenger. The weight is just one fourth of a sedan and is practically very light and manageable.
It also has only two wheels, as four aren’t enough for just one person. It is also the safest two-wheeled transport as it is closed and does not leave you vulnerable to any danger. It has a flexible windshield and a head-up-display and steering is perfor9med independently. The EGO is so agile that it has no match whatsoever.
The driver needs to use a joystick to pedal and not a boring old steering wheel or a pedal. This unique two-wheel car concept will surely catch a number of people’s attention. Moreover, it is practical, green and user friendly and is just right for a single passenger in an urban setting.

Ferrari Motorcycle Design by Amir Glinik
Thursday, September 25th, 2008 |Tags: Amir Glinik, Automobiles, Designer, Ferrari, Ferrari Enzo, Motorcycle, Technology, V4

Ferraris are the ruling monsters when it comes to super speedy cars. Nothing can compete with them, and Ferrari lovers are just waiting for them to join the world of motorcycle designing so they can conquer that world with a twist of their drawing boards. Perhaps Ferrari fans need not wait much longer, because one of their own has already come up with designs of what he believes a Ferrari motorcycle should look like.
Amir Glinik submits his own designs of the Ferrari motorcycle and it definitely looks like a mean monster, sure to overshadow any other bike on the road. Ferraris have extremely Italian designs, are aerodynamic and sleekly stylish and Glinik’s design of the bike incorporates all of these important points. His bike also follows along the line of a V4 based upon the engine of a Ferrari Enzo and thus uses DbW technology.
Glinik’s design also has several high-tech gadget attachments, reminiscent of Ferrari cars. Apart from he traditional Ferrari red, Glinik has also designed a yellow version. If Ferrari is going to enter into a new field, it might just as well incorporate more colors into its designs.

C-Quester 2 and 3 Submersibles from U-Boat Worx
Thursday, September 25th, 2008 |Tags: C-Quester, marine technology, Monaco Yacht Show, submarine, Submersibles, Superyacht Times, u-boat, U-Boat Worx

Submarines are some of the best creations when it comes to marine technology. After all, a ship that can hold its own after being immersed in water and lets you watch all of the beauty of the water world is definitely an amazing creation. From the first submarine that was created in wood, which once immersed never went back to the surface, submarine makers have come a long way.
The electric C-Quester 2 and C-Quester 3 submersibles from U-Boat Worx have a sleek shiny design and will be making their first appearance at the Monaco Yacht Show 2008, according to Superyacht Times. C-Quester 2 is a two-seater designed to be used for pleasure hunts when on megayachts and the three-seater C-Quester 3 is meant for use by resorts offering underwater experiences to their clients. The C-Questers are designed with the utmost safety precautions in mind, are comfortable, have underwater communication and includes sonar, optional video cameras and tracking systems.
The C-Questers can only go to a depth of 100 metres, so they would not be helpful for extremely deep sea experiences. The C-Quester 3 will be the first to be launched at the end of the year, with number 2 following right after.

Rosta: Bike with Comfortable Seating Position
Thursday, September 25th, 2008 |Tags: bicycle, bike, cycling, exercise, Rosta

A bike ride is always a pleasure. You are going slow enough to watch the kids running by and smell the flowers alongside the path. But you have overdone yourself; you are tired, your back and neck are aching, not to mention that very sensitive part of your body that is sitting upon the seat. You really need to change your position but it is impossible to do so.
The Rosta has been designed with this discomfort in mind. The bicycle is designed so that the user is seated in the most comfortable position on the bike, which turns out to be lying halfway upon the bike. This position takes most of the strain off your upper body, relieving you from those deadly back aches. With comfort as the highest priority, the design of the bike came up after intensive research into this.
The Rosta also looks extremely sleek and unlike any other bike on the road. It appears as though it is a cross between a futuristic bike and an exercise bicycle. Whatever may be the design, the cost of manufacturing this would definitely be very high.

Air Speed Bicycle Concept Disappoints many
Thursday, September 18th, 2008 |Tags: Bicycles, Bikes, Concepts, FalconXp

Sometimes, it becomes necessary for us ride bicycles and give up the big motors. A designer, FalconXp from one of the forums recently posted his concept bicycle on the forum. Though the cycle looks good and may work out to be an interesting product, there are many flaws in the design. The two sharp points on either end look dangerous and isn’t exactly a good thing. Having a hole in the center and the offset crank arms would make strength, aerodynamics, weight, and mechanical efficiency would suffer.
The sharp blade in the crotch may be seen as a negative to some people. Also the does not seem to be an impression of forward motion to the design. Though he has got a number of critical comments, if only he tried and used more highlights and shading, it would bring out a bit and make it look more 3D and particularly shadow on downwards facing surfaces. If the designer makes necessary changes, the bike would be a really cool one.

Vectrix Electric Bike Concept Eliminates Unnecesary Components
Tuesday, September 16th, 2008 |Tags: Batteries, Bikes, Concepts, Electric Bike, Green vehicles, Vectrix

If concepts could kill, then the concept had to be that of the Vectrix electric bike. This cool looking bike has a top speed of 200km/h and a great deal of power. The idea behind designing this bike was to eliminate unnecessary components that we are so used to seeing in a bike. The bike does not have an exhaust or an engine or a fuel system. Instead, it depends on futuristic designing that helps it to rev up and zoom. The electricity run bike is enough to grab all the attention you ever wanted.
It has a well-designed body and a sleek look. The wide frontal area means you have increased momentum when you ride. It would be interesting to see if this bike ever gets manufactured. However, like most concept vehicles, this may not see the light of the day ever and stay locked up in the archives of a design corporation.
