Considering shifting your base? Don’t bother house-hunting, have your new house delivered right to your doorstep! Designed by Arthur Rottier and Peter Jongman for Dutch architectural company KAW, the Woonbox is a complete house within a space-saving box-like structure. Intended for temporary stay while travelling, this mobile home is fully automatic and ready to occupy. With double compartments, the Woonbox opens up into a sleek kitchen fitted with a built-in stove and sink on one side and appears to transform into a shower cum WC when viewed from the opposite side. Intelligently constructed and beautifully designed, the Woonbox even takes little necessities, such as space for hanging clothes, into consideration.

This prefabricated home-away-from-home manages to appear stylish with subdued colours and floral designs on the walls, and may be a boon for those looking for a cheap place to stay while on vacation. The only thing missing in the Woonbox is sleeping space, but this may not be a problem since you can always pack away a tent and sleeping bag on one of the many shelves provided and sleep under the stars.

Closing up into a black cubicle, the Woonbox seems to give life and new meaning to the word black box.
