The future of car designs involve super sleek bodies hosting within it an extremely fast engine that does not require an exhaustible resource to power it. Perhaps that future has already arrived with the Cellogan. Designed by Hosseini Ghahramani, the Cellogan is the answer for the car of tomorrow as an eco-friendly contraption that is electromagnetically powered.

The Cellogan features three caterpillar rubber track wheels that can turn in a 360 degree angle. It is inspired by the workings of the Maglev trains which perform with the highest speed and safety due to almost-nil friction and central controlling. Following the style of the Peugot, the Cellogan is also made with continuous body lines without any jarring features, making it a simple, beautiful and easy on the eye. The car features multimedia auto-pilot and navigation systems with touch screen facility and includes a main screen that gives a perfect view of the rear.

Tags: , , ,

With the amount of new designs that are put on show every day, car designers have to come up with more than just shiny painting of a bright casing on four wheels. Motor bike fans would be pleased to know that there may soon be cars that they can ride, instead of drive.

The Versa-Quatic by Versa is an automated car concept that can seat two. This car will allow you to ride it by grace of the unique seating position that it offers the driver, or in this case the rider. The driver will have complete control of the car via his whole body, unlike traditional cars which allow you to use only your arms and feet. Driving a Versa-Quatic will be a most fascinating experience because turning, speeding and stopping the car is done by different movements of the whole body of the driver.

Here is a concept car that is designed for an urban user and also a single user. The Peugeot EGO is a lean vehicle, which has been specially designed to tackle the traffic and carry only one passenger. The weight is just one fourth of a sedan and is practically very light and manageable.

It also has only two wheels, as four aren’t enough for just one person. It is also the safest two-wheeled transport as it is closed and does not leave you vulnerable to any danger. It has a flexible windshield and a head-up-display and steering is perfor9med independently. The EGO is so agile that it has no match whatsoever.

The driver needs to use a joystick to pedal and not a boring old steering wheel or a pedal. This unique two-wheel car concept will surely catch a number of people’s attention. Moreover, it is practical, green and user friendly and is just right for a single passenger in an urban setting.

Amphibious vehicles continue to wow the masses and make them yearn to own one. The thought of driving a vehicle through the streets of the city and straight into sea remain one of the most fantasised concepts when it comes to vehicle freaks. The Pathfinder takes all your dreams and makes them a reality. This hybrid vehicle is a car that transforms into a sailing vessel at the touch of a button.

The Pathfinder features four motors fitted in the four wheels. The hydrogen fuel powered vehicle is also eco-friendly because it can run on solar energy via the retractable solar powered roof and can also use wind energy as it sails over the seas. A jet drive feature for extra thrust is also included. The Pathfinder can comfortably house three people and includes a kitchen and bathroom. Too bad this cool amphibian still remains a concept.

Shiny black cars are a passion that nobody can say no to. And when a black exterior is combined with futuristic designs that make the car look as though it might zoom off the ground to race on the walls, it looks even cooler. The 2010 Lotus Europa i6 is inspired by classic Lotus cars, Europa and Elite and appears to incorporate ion its design the latest of the Lotus trends.

Designed by Noah Idries, the Lotus Europa is a mid engined rear wheel drive car that runs with the help of a supercharged two litre inline 6. Top speed achieved by the 2030lbs Lotus Europa intends to be 165mph and it aims to reach 0-100 in 7 seconds flat. The specifications for the car may not work out if this concept became a product, but the design sure would look awesome racing along the streets at night.

Mo Ville is the Green Solution to All Automobile Problems

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 |

Tags: , , , , , , ,

In the 2008 Peugeot Design Contest, upcoming designer Woo-Ram Lee of France conceptualized a single seater vehicle that is truly futuristic. Mo Ville is designed in the shape of a tear drop. The most impressive thing about it is that it is eco-friendly and does not cause any pollution. The plastic body of the car is unpainted and it comes along with fitted solar battery chargers. Like a family member, the welcomes you with open arms (or doors) when you come near it, but beware because that happens only when you are the rightful owner.

The car can drive by itself and has omni directional wheels which make sit easy to turn around or travel in any direction. Not just that, it comes fitted with proximity sensors, cameras, and GPS, to make driving a child’s play. Its communication system can talk to other cars and avoid traffic congestion. If we are able to put together in future, then it can really solve most of our problems.

Lexus Nuaero: Futuristic Car by Jon RÃ¥dbrink

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 |

Tags: , , , , , , ,

The aerial view of it makes it appear like the BatMobile, a side view makes it look like a darker version of the pod that Superman arrived on earth in, and checking it out from the front will just simply make your jaws drop down in drooling wonder. That is the effect that the Lexus Nuaero has on most people. This sleek black-shined concept car has been designed by Jon RÃ¥dbrink to appear futuristic enough to knock your eyeballs out.

Even the features of the Lexus Nuaero are futuristic as RÃ¥dbrink has eliminated steering wheel, opting instead for a drive by wire system with multi-point touch screen. The feet pedals have been thrown away and the breaking mechanism works by applying pressure on the steering wheel. The car is powered by electrical motors and is low weight which would help increase the mileage. This 14.5ft car will hopefully make it to the market, if only for the mind-blowing design if not for the features.

Moller M400 Skycar will Take to the Roads and Skies!

Tuesday, August 19th, 2008 |

Imagine speeding past all those other lowly vehicles on the road in your brand new and bright red shiny car and then, just to show off to that bald-headed guy in the sports car, you press a button and voila! your car begins to rise into the sky, flying. The Moller M400 Skycar works much like the Transformers, morphing from car one minute into an aircraft the next moment. Moller describes the M400 Skycar as feasible and personally affordable VTOL (that’s Vertical Take Off and Landing for the non-geeks).

The Moller M400 Skycar works like a chopper, being able to rise vertically upward from the ground, except that it can also be driven on the road. It can run on various types of fuel, from natural gas to diesel. With multiple ducted fans, the Moller M400 Skycar makes the slightest of noise, assuring that you can take this babe out for a drive-cum-flight any time you feel like it. Although it can only touch 20mpg on ground, in the air the M400Skycar can go three times faster than a light chopper. If marketed, the Moller M400 Skycar would be sold between £30,000 to £250,000, depending on whether it generates enough desire for mass production.
