Antonin Dvorak Concert and Congress Centre: Heavenly Design
Saturday, September 27th, 2008 |Tags: Antonin Dvorak Concert and Congress Centre, concert hall, design, Future Systems, Heaven Cultural and Commercial Spaces

When we are asked to imagine what Heaven might look like, we are often bombarded with the same images. Golden gates, white spaces filled with slow moving clouds and angels with wings singing and playing on harps. If you wish to deter from this age old imaginary sight, then you could opt for something a bit more futuristic.
Future Systems has designed the Antonin Dvorak Concert and Congress Centre to give you a sense of Heaven Cultural and Commercial Spaces. From the grand entrance, the space will lead in restaurants, cafe lounges, dance floors and music halls. The concert halls would allow 1000 people and the music halls can accommodate 400 people. You can almost see the Heavenly light shining down on these enclosures with beautifully artistic and imaginative designs.
The halls have amazing sound quality, apart from ravishing looks. Each one appears to look more futuristic than ever. Now you know what Heaven would look like, stunningly futuristic.

A Bed of Fantasies: Fly Away on MotoArt
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 |Tags: Airplanes, bed, design, Designer, Flight, Furniture, Mile High Beds, MotoArt, Sleep

MotoArt has been known for giving wings to the fantasies of people. Earlier they have provided us with treasure troves such as B52 Stratofortress Ejector Seat Office Chair and the Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet Engine Cowling Reception Desk but their new offering beats it all. The Mile High Bed launched by them is a sure recommendation for people who live and dream about aviation. The bed measures 11′ in length and 7′ 6″ in width, and is fabricated with two DC-9 (passenger jet) rear stabilisers and a C-130 (military cargo aircraft) inner flap.
The bed is comfortable to sit in and read your favourite book as the back is in a slant and can be adjusted according to your comfort. Led lights give it a very appealing look and complets the flight fantasy. It can easily accommodate two tall people and is ideal for a couple. It has got a very sensual appeal and is a wonderful gift your partner to spice up your life.

Will Electrolux ‘Sfera’ Washing Machine work?
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 |Tags: Concept, design, Designer, Electrolux, Product, Sfera, Washing Machine

The Electrolux ‘Sfera’ Washing Machine has had my brain swirl in circles. The design replaces the drab old washing machine with a circular, fixed in wall thing. The design is similar to the turn down soap dispensers you may have seen, only thing is it is hundred times bigger and and at least a thousand times heavier, specially when clothes are lying inside it.
One wonders how can it manage so much weight, and more so when it spirals at full speed in circular motion. Lets assume, it able to do that but I am not sure that many of us would like to have our tiled bathroom damaged just to fix up a washing machine when we can easily do with a portable one. As Electrolux has not disclosed any details on it, all that I am saying is based on the pictures that we can have access to. And the picture does not convince me that it is large enough to wash all my clothes in one go.
Right now, I am not convinced with the Electrolux ‘Sfera’ Washing Machine, but my opinion can change once the fact sheet is out and is able to answer all the questions I have put across.

Sit in Saucers, in Style!
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008 |Tags: design, Designer, Furniture, Lounge, Low Lin Kiat, Low lounger

Sometimes we just want to look apart from the crowd. The same goes for our homes- we want it to look unique yet comfortable. Designer Low Lin Kiat has come up with a unique design for low-lying seaters. Shaped like single flower petals the lounger can be arranged singularly or if space permits, you can have and entire set of them placed around a center table. Shaped like a saucer, the lounger allows you easy space but is without any backrest. But, in case you want to lie down in a half reclining position, it has the perfect design for that. The set up can be suitably used to have your evening tea or even to work, placing your laptop and files on the glass top table. As for me, I would rather exchange it for a good old beanbag any day.
