The toaster spit out burnt bread, the traffic is horrible and your boss refuses to let you take a break from work. You’re losing your mind and all you want to do at the end of the day is vent out all your frustrations on the punching bag, but the gym is closed, too!

It doesn’t matter because you can head right home and punch the lights on. Punch the !ighting is a punching bag with an LED light within that would switch on once you start punching the bag. Designed by Jum Bum Park and Kim Jin Sook, the punching bag light is meant to de-stress and refresh your mind. This would be a great product to have around if you are often stressed out into throwing and breaking your favourite things. You get to punch this and still be left with the lights intact.

Here is a design, which aims to take digital technology to a greater level, a level that we still have not heard of. This sleek and chic folder comes with detachable processing unit and also a textbook feature, which allows you to read books or not down in minutes.

It has double-sided transparent flexible screens too, to add to the chicness. The design consists of 3 expandable, foldable, and flexible screens and they come with an extra wide central view which helps you read your notes or books in a better way. There also are multi touch screens, which have touch-evoked keyboards which can be resized according to your wish.

If interaction is what you are looking at, it comes with 3D projection module and a web cam and conference facili8ty. The green product is shock proof so it wouldn’t hurt to drop it once or twice. It is Bluetooth enabled and is designed ergonomically. This has to be one of the coolest folder designs ever.

Ferrari Motorcycle Design by Amir Glinik

Ferrari Motorcycle

Ferraris are the ruling monsters when it comes to super speedy cars. Nothing can compete with them, and Ferrari lovers are just waiting for them to join the world of motorcycle designing so they can conquer that world with a twist of their drawing boards. Perhaps Ferrari fans need not wait much longer, because one of their own has already come up with designs of what he believes a Ferrari motorcycle should look like.

Amir Glinik submits his own designs of the Ferrari motorcycle and it definitely looks like a mean monster, sure to overshadow any other bike on the road. Ferraris have extremely Italian designs, are aerodynamic and sleekly stylish and Glinik’s design of the bike incorporates all of these important points. His bike also follows along the line of a V4 based upon the engine of a Ferrari Enzo and thus uses DbW technology.

Glinik’s design also has several high-tech gadget attachments, reminiscent of Ferrari cars. Apart from he traditional Ferrari red, Glinik has also designed a yellow version. If Ferrari is going to enter into a new field, it might just as well incorporate more colors into its designs.

Adam Brodowski Designs the Sook: A Futuristic Kitchen Assistant

Sook

Designing futuristic kitchens have been an area of interest for many talented designers. Adam Brodowski seems to like staying connected when he is in the kitchen, and hence, has created the “Sook” a wireless kitchen assistant concept. The Sook Cut can measure weight and moisture of the ingredients being cut/chopped on the board and is more like a real assistant in flesh and blood, except that it doesn’t talk out loud. The Sook Cut transmits the information to the Sook Touch to generate a recipe. The Sook Touch lets you touch and drag to display and share your recipes. Thus you do not have to run to your PC every time you need a recipe. You can also discard all those boring recipe books stashed in the cupboard.

Interestingly, the design lets you stay in touch with your friends on social networking websites with the help of the Internet. The most interesting feature of the design has to be the electronic tongue, which tastes the food, thanks to the sensors and examines if the ingredients are mixed properly and if anything has to be added. If you would like to know how your mother-in-law always ends up making better apple pie than you, just place some near the Sook Dock, and then you will get all the secret ingredients listed out, thanks to the RFID scanner.

Sook

So much for your mother-in-law’s meanness! Adam must be years ahead of us to think about all the features that you may need in a kitchen. However, like most concepts, this might take a while to be manufactured, or if Adam isn’t lucky, it never might get manufactured.

Last week, I wanted to take my grandparents out to visit the woods for their 50th anniversary but swore that I would never do that again. Now, I am not an unruly grand daughter but it was a momentous task to carry two wheel chairs, the old lovers and my doggie Danny together on my bumping old vagon.
Thanks to Julie Clyde, I will be able to take my pals out in near future. Ms. Clyde truly deserves our applaud for having designed Freemode, a chair that helps people with disabilities gain more convenience.
One of the best features of the chair is that it is made up of fibre glass and therefore can be taken easily to washroom and can be used as a bathing chair as well as a commode. Since it is easily foldable, it is ideal for personal use as well as hospitals/airports. It has quick release pins which means that you can pack it in a matter of few seconds.

It is sturdy and promises to last a long time. Ms. Clyde has researched the viability of designing such chair by talking to local fibreglass artists. The chair comes in ivory white color with gloss finish and a sand yellow pack case that makes it truly durable.
I think I might not be that late to buy it as an anniversary gift for my dear granny and grand pa!

Some things are difficult to forget. Truly, the Hollywood flick Aliens would be one of those things for all of us who watched the film. There are a number of animation games inspired by movies but it is very rarely that one gets to see this kind of art and brains at work. Perhaps the need to be different explains why the developers chose to design a chess board bringing alive the characters out of the movie. This exclusive Aliens Chess Set recreates the magic by having space marines and the aliens together. It is based on the fight between queen alien and the marines who want to out wit her. Having figures out of the movie in shades of bronze and gold, this is a sure shot collector’s piece.

Compose Music Tablet Lets the Musician In & You Out!

Wednesday, August 20th, 2008 |

Tags: , , , , ,

If ever I get a chance to meet Designers Ouyang Xi, He Binbin, Zeng Li and Li Bo, I would ask them if they are telepathy experts. Yes, the thing is that I am a jack of all trades and music is no exception. I can hum good tunes but do not know how to write it down. Ever since I discovered my talent in music, I have been praying for a magic wand that turns my music into notes, without me having to learn it myself. My magic wand came in the form of a pen that is a part of Compose Music Tablet. Now, I can use the pen as a microphone and be a Mozart by making my melodies immortal.

The concept says that the pen works as a mic and a recorder and can be later attached to the notebook to get the notes on the tablet. There are loads of other features that will surely make me a legend one day!
