A collapsible wheel chair with a commode: Challenging the limits
Wednesday, September 3rd, 2008 |Tags: commode, Designer, Julie Clyde, wheel chair
Last week, I wanted to take my grandparents out to visit the woods for their 50th anniversary but swore that I would never do that again. Now, I am not an unruly grand daughter but it was a momentous task to carry two wheel chairs, the old lovers and my doggie Danny together on my bumping old vagon.
Thanks to Julie Clyde, I will be able to take my pals out in near future. Ms. Clyde truly deserves our applaud for having designed Freemode, a chair that helps people with disabilities gain more convenience.

Some things are difficult to forget. Truly, the Hollywood flick Aliens would be one of those things for all of us who watched the film. There are a number of animation games inspired by movies but it is very rarely that one gets to see this kind of art and brains at work. Perhaps the need to be different explains why the developers chose to design a chess board bringing alive the characters out of the movie. This exclusive Aliens Chess Set recreates the magic by having space marines and the aliens together. It is based on the fight between queen alien and the marines who want to out wit her. Having figures out of the movie in shades of bronze and gold, this is a sure shot collector’s piece.

If ever I get a chance to meet Designers Ouyang Xi, He Binbin, Zeng Li and Li Bo, I would ask them if they are telepathy experts. Yes, the thing is that I am a jack of all trades and music is no exception. I can hum good tunes but do not know how to write it down. Ever since I discovered my talent in music, I have been praying for a magic wand that turns my music into notes, without me having to learn it myself. My magic wand came in the form of a pen that is a part of Compose Music Tablet. Now, I can use the pen as a microphone and be a Mozart by making my melodies immortal.

In the 2008 Peugeot Design Contest, upcoming designer Woo-Ram Lee of France conceptualized a single seater vehicle that is truly futuristic. Mo Ville is designed in the shape of a tear drop. The most impressive thing about it is that it is eco-friendly and does not cause any pollution. The plastic body of the car is unpainted and it comes along with fitted solar battery chargers. Like a family member, the welcomes you with open arms (or doors) when you come near it, but beware because that happens only when you are the rightful owner.

Headphones for People with Hearing Disabilities
Wednesday, August 13th, 2008 |Tags: Brain, Brian, Concept, Deaf, Deal Helmet, Designer, Earphones, Hearing Aid, helmets, Infrared, Product, Sensor

If technology can help us cross our limitations and be productive to people in need, then it has be the technology that ‘Hearing Aid’ hopes for. The designer, who is the ‘brain’ behind this concept, is Brian. Brian is giving an insight into how future can be, with deaf people being able to hear. The concept is based on the fact that what lays beyond our field of vision influences our hearing perception. What we don’t see can be made sense of, when we hear what’s coming from there.
It comes with five infrared sensors that beams along with sound microphones, which replicate the perception, felt in this blind spot area. Though it cannot be compared to the real hearing experience, it is close enough to it and one day, by improving upon the technology, we might be able to cross all the limitations.
