Scan Toaster: Make Artwork Toast

Starting your day with a hasty breakfast usually means you only get enough time for a quick glass of orange juice and a nibble at a slice of toast. This barely accounts to put a smile on your face, which really is the best makeup your face deserves early in the morning. The Scan Toaster would definitely succeed in putting a quick smile on your face when you only have time a quick piece of toast. The Scan Toaster can toast your bread slice with any image you want.

All you have to do is to choose a picture of your desire, connect toaster to the computer via USB, and the Scan Toaster will burn the exact image onto your chosen piece of bread. Sounds fascinating? The toaster uses modules or hot wires which rotate in a thirty degree radius to burn the chosen image onto the bread piece for a fancy breakfast. The Scan Toaster was designed by Sung Bae Chang for a competition sponsored by Electrolux. I’m going to start my day with a picture of my maths teacher burnt onto my toast, and take the pleasure of feeding it to my dog. The thought fills my tummy completely!

Electrolux Flatshare Fridge a Must When Living with Gluttonous Friends

Thinking back to your college days will probably remind you of moments when you were kicked out of class for snoozing (because you simple had to be there at the Free Beers party) or of all the wedgies you received from your flatmates. Unless prompted, you wouldn’t think of all the arguments you had because someone nicked the last piece of pie your friend was saving (most probably because it was you who did it). The years of bickering over who the last bottle of beer belongs to may soon be over with the creation of the Electrolux Flatshare Fridge.

Designed by Stefan Butchberger from the University of Applied Arts in Vienna for the Annual Electrolux Design Lab competition, the Flatshare Fridge is intended at keeping the peace between flatmates who share the same fridge. The fridge contains individual compartments that give each student the same amount of space for bottles, eggs and veggies. The entry of a new flatmate need not be unwelcome either, because another unit can simply be added on top. I just hope Stefan thought of adding locks on each unit; I wouldn’t trust my flatmates to keep their hands from my pies!

Nojae Park’s Kitchen Drawer For Electrolux Is Functional

One of the greatest advantages of urban areas is the ability to stay connected and to be able to get downtown within a few minutes. However, this privilege comes with its disadvantages such as high rent and a lack of space. Nojae Park has designed the Kitchen Drawer for electrolux, which aims at making optimum utilization of the space available. This Kitchen drawer is designed in such a way that it makes use of the little space available in your kitchen and you could shove it all under the desk.

This is for the ones that use the computer all the time and have no time or space or even energy to arrange everything in a slick way. It has a stainless plate for meal prep and warming, an electric stove for cooking, a dish drawer for storage, and a mini-fridge. This awesome system may not only save space and organize, but also inspire you to cook more and eat well.

Will Electrolux ‘Sfera’ Washing Machine work?

Will Electrolux \'Sfera\' Washing Machine work? , Electrolux, Sfera, Washing Machine, Concept, Design, Designer, Product electrolux

The Electrolux ‘Sfera’ Washing Machine has had my brain swirl in circles. The design replaces the drab old washing machine with a circular, fixed in wall thing. The design is similar to the turn down soap dispensers you may have seen, only thing is it is hundred times bigger and and at least a thousand times heavier, specially when clothes are lying inside it.

One wonders how can it manage so much weight, and more so when it spirals at full speed in circular motion. Lets assume, it able to do that but I am not sure that many of us would like to have our tiled bathroom damaged just to fix up a washing machine when we can easily do with a portable one. As Electrolux has not disclosed any details on it, all that I am saying is based on the pictures that we can have access to. And the picture does not convince me that it is large enough to wash all my clothes in one go.

Right now, I am not convinced with the Electrolux ‘Sfera’ Washing Machine, but my opinion can change once the fact sheet is out and is able to answer all the questions I have put across.
