Most of the women feel that new gadgets are designed keeping in mind the taste of men and thus women have no alternative but to get used to it. How often have you seen, lets say, a computer designed keeping in mind the aesthetic styling of a woman? You have to race your brain really hard to find that one or two example.

This is the reason I appreciate the efforts put in by Jeremy Doherty, imon Doherty and Dareen Doherty from new Zealand. The trio have come up with a Swarovski mouse specially designed for trendy women. No wonder that the design has won rank one in a competition organised by Designboom. The designers say that that they have given a daily use item a “sensual, feminine form”.

The shape of the mouse itself is a pun on the Swarovski logo. Shaed as a swan, the neck of the mouse carries a sparkling crystal that can be used as a toggle button. The mouse is wireless, so the swan looks more like a show piece, without any wires protruding out of it. The design comes with a Swarovski logo at the base of the swan. Truly, a swan to fly on to your dream land!

If ever I get a chance to meet Designers Ouyang Xi, He Binbin, Zeng Li and Li Bo, I would ask them if they are telepathy experts. Yes, the thing is that I am a jack of all trades and music is no exception. I can hum good tunes but do not know how to write it down. Ever since I discovered my talent in music, I have been praying for a magic wand that turns my music into notes, without me having to learn it myself. My magic wand came in the form of a pen that is a part of Compose Music Tablet. Now, I can use the pen as a microphone and be a Mozart by making my melodies immortal.

If laptops are so efficient and easy on pocket, why do people still buy PC’s? Debate as we may, PC still has some appeal that laptop does not. For one, it is sturdy and can tolerate rough use. Another point is that, unlike laptop, it does not require you to unpack it, attach all the peripherals before you can get started with your work.

Ben Collette’s trendy conceptual project for Packard Bell attempts to take the good old PC to new heights. The Deep home computer is designed such that you can slip in the monitor inside CPU, thereby reducing space requirements.

All around the globe, thousands of people are smoking their heads out in an attempt to reduce the pollution and help maintain ecological balance. On the other hand, millions of people are smoking day and night. While we cannot control it, we can devise some ways in which o check the harmful effects of smoking. Neo-Tec’s Ionic Smokeless Ashtray is doing just that.

It purifies the air pollution that is caused by the smoke by simply breaking down smoke and other particulates into negatively charged ions, which are eventually attracted by the positively charged dome. The price factor is perfectly fine: $19.99.

The additional reason to buy it is that is comes with a beautiful glass ashtray and AC adapter. But it would require you to buy 4 AA batteries to be used. The dimensions of the ashtray are 7-1/2″ x 5-3/4″ x 3-3/4″.

Hubcap Creatures

We have seen people participating actively in debate, thereby ready to contribute their share towards making environment green. But when it actually comes to materialize their heavy words then there seems to be no substance in their thoughts. Here i am to offer them a choice, if not  a healthy contribution then a wise pick of things can be their unconscious involvement in this noble cause. Featured above are unique animal sculpture designed using hubcaps found on road-side together with other recycled materials. With starting price $300, these Hubcap Creatures can be as pricey as $1,000 plus. The value of the sculpture depends purely upon the integrity of its design and ingredients used. With a designer mind of Ptolemy behind its creation, each piece is bathed in found materials and thus bears the marks of their previous life cycle. Most of the sculptures are fish, but you may be fortunate to catch hold off handful of lizards as well. Get some hundreds of them and hang around everywhere in your home.
