CitySpeed: Urban Bike designed by Michael Young

With plastic bikes, foldable bikes, one-wheeled bikes (and what not..), the majority of the population seems to have forgotten how a real bicycle used to look like at the time of its inception. � So, just to remind you of what our grandparents may have been riding while they were teens, let me show you some pictures of a bike that was manufactured not eons ago but very very recently! The CitySpeed is an urban bike in the guise of the old wheels, drawn up by industrial designer Michael Young.

The CitySpeed was designed for Taiwanese bicycle manufacturer, Giant. This is the second collaborative effort between Young and the Giant. Earlier he had designed the CityStorm range for them, which was released in Japan. The bike does not sport anything new under the heading of design. The bike has a gold-bronze frame and LED headlights. Unfortunately, not many may be interested in riding a bicycle that appears this old-fashioned, not even in a place like Taiwan where people usually opt for a simple bicycle for transportation.
